I was doing some research today for an upcoming series of blog posts about Search Engine Optimization (or “optimisation” if you live in England!) and had to smile when i followed a link on the SEOmoz site to their article on “301 redirects”.
A 301 redirect is a technical term for the way a web server redirects visitors to a new page if, for example, you have moved your site to a new location but people have still bookmarked your old address.
The link in question was found on their excellent SEO 101 guide and pointed to a page about 301 redirects
Obviously they havent got round to adding a redirect for that page yet!
